Allah says
وَلَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلا يَزَالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ إِلَّا مَنْ رَحِمَ رَبُّكَ وَلِذَلِكَ خلَقَهُمْ وتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لَأَمْلأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ أجْمَعِينَ [هود:118-119]
And if had your Lord willed, He would have made the people one nation, and they would not cease to differ, except those on whom your Lord has mercy, and for that He created them, and the word of your Lord was fulfilled, I will fill Hell with jinn and all people [Hud: 118-119]
We benefit from the verse on several axes
Action is related to God's will
God is not like human beings whose will is one thing and they are forced to do something else, but He - Glory be to Him - if He wills something, He does it, and here if He wants to make us all: on the heart of one man, In thinking, knowing, and understanding about Him, Glory be to Him - or about life, or in one belief to do, but it is not His will.
And they are still different
They are still an act of continuity, i.e. not in a period of time alone or with some persons within another group. Rather, it is a way of life
Except from the mercy of your Lord
It indicates that the difference, despite some of its praiseworthy benefits, is division and fragmentation. There is always a nation united on one word, whether this nation is not determined by a specific time, or a specific place, they meet and unite on the idea and those whom God has mercy on
That is why He created them:
This is strange.. As if the main purpose of our creation as human beings was to be different in thought, color, belief in God, belief, and thought in life, This is the essence of wealth, and this is the essence of choice. It is said in the proverb (who is more fertile, he may chose or confuse) for those who have fertility in information, Or things, it was easy for him to choose what he wanted, so there is nothing we should forced on him.
As if the verse tells us not to be surprised or collapse when you find the differences in your life and to walk in it. The wonder is that you are not different from others, we do not say to a small or large group that you belong to it - this is possible - but it is not possible for you to come out partly away from this group and show people the same way of thinking, values and morals, and this is what the noble verse talks about that you can unite with a group (one nation) In ideas and values...etc. But it is not possible for all people to be in this way, so do not let the dispute break out between you.
Why?
Because it is one of the goals of nature, the universe, as nature is full of you from the beginning of the dinosaur - even if it became extinct - to small insects that can hardly be seen with the naked eye, and it was so easy for God to copy infinite numbers of the first copy of the dinosaur, for example, and distribute it to all the planet Earth, and He does not create shapes, types, sizes, and colors of creatures between dinosaurs and insects, rather, the act of this diversity in nature also exists among people and through it, if they agree, or groups of them agree on the same goals, a nation without people and with their differences produces the best kind of brainstorming that produces all the innovations you see around you, to the structures that bear the stamp of art, to even diseases and viruses that have never been seen before... This is the tax of difference
The difference has aspects that are praiseworthy and others that are reprehensible, before we know what they are exactly, we must know that whenever we are distinguished by something, we differ from others, and people do not like someone who is distinguished over them, so envy and hatred ensues, perhaps fighting for personal interests and the fear of losing their interests, let's take a look at some of the pros and cons:
The positive effects of difference
It makes it possible - if the intent is to be believed - to identify all the possibilities that could be evidence, and throw them to the face of the evidence.
A sport for the mind
Cross pollination
Opening areas of thinking to reach other assumptions that minds can reach
Multiple solutions for the owner of each incident to find the appropriate solution to the situation that is commensurate with the reality of their lives
Giving individuals self-confidence and the ability to confront and find solutions
Difference of opinion is mercy because it is impossible to convince people of one opinion
The negative effects of difference
Killing the competencies and draining the rest of the non-emergence of energies
Rely on one canned idea
Increased delay and distance from civilization.
Is Islam keen on etiquette for disagreement or leave the matter to us?
No: Islam addressed Muslims with several verses in the Qur’an that improve and control the relationship in the event of disagreement. Let us refer to some of them:
Allah says
يا دَاوُودُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاكَ خَلِيفَةً فِي الْأَرْضِ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ الْهَوَى فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سبِيلِ اللهِ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شدِيدٌ بمَا نَسُوا يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ)
O David, we made you a caliph in the land, so judge between the people with justice, and do not follow your desires, lest they lead you astray from the path of God, those who stray from the way of God will have a severe punishment because they forgot the Day of Judgment.)
1- By regular reading, what do you understand from the verse without the interpretation of the distinguished scholars? God - the Almighty - talk to whom in the verse? A prophet of the faithful prophets who killed the enemy of God and the enemy of the believers in his time (Goliath) and he is a young soldier, and he is now a judge and a king at the same time, i.e. combining the virtues of the world, the king and the judiciary between people, and with this comes a warning to him from God - Almighty- why? we are more deserving of this warning than a prophet from God’s prophets. He is a role model for all judges who will come after him, not only in his time, but in all ages, I cannot imagine a Muslim judge teaching verses about the judiciary in the Qur’an that he did not study during his studies or even read them to educate himself, so when there is disagreement, it is necessary to set aside whims and personal interests away from people's rights
2 - Disagree, and your difference must be recognized by everyone around you: but let you have limits while dealing with those around you
Allah says
﴿ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِنْ قَوْمٍ عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونُوا خَيْرًا مِنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَاءٌ مِنْ نِسَاءٍ عَسَى أَنْ يَكُنَّ خَيْرًا مِنْهُنَّ
O you who have believed, do not deride a people, perhaps that they be better than they are, and no women from other women who may be better than them
people that they got faithed An appeal to believers in particular: What does this mean? Does this mean that non-believers are outside these orders? rather, it means that if you do not do that, then you are outside the limits of your faith in those moments when you do that.
Don't scoff
Dear reader, no (it is called La al-Nahiya in the Arabic language), which means that it is a strong prohibition, mockery of a people by a people, what is the definition of a people? They are a group of veiled people mocking a non-veiled group, Let us assume that the West mocks the way the East dresses, or vice versa, the East mocks the West's way of life, and so on... This is forbidden, Why is the verse explaining something strange? (Maybe they are better than them) How is this when they are being mocked in the first place? So to God Almighty - a view of things that is not like our personal perspectives, you may condemn the one who dresses in a way that you do not like, so he will be better and purer in religion than you. You have a arrogance and he is humble and ashamed of his disobedience, as they say maybe, obedience bequeathed glory and arrogance, and perhaps disobedience bequeathed humiliation and brokenness) and the Humiliation and brokenness are among the nearest and quickest ways to reach God Almighty.
And no women
Women, Lord, from among the people? Why do we talk about them too? Women in their societies in particular are the most jealous and envious people ever, and talk behind each other, and even sarcasm is a major part of their conversations, and why did they stop? For the same reason, it is possible that the one you are talking about and making fun of is better with God than you are.
3- When misunderstanding (avoid suspicion)
Allah says
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوا كَثِيرًامِّنَ الظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ إِثْمٌ
O you who believe, avoid much suspicion, for some suspicion is sinful.
Do not think badly of a word emanating from your brother when you find a good explanation for it.) On Omar, there is no objection to mistakes. It is a cheap attempt to triumph over the other, so that we can go to the depths and delve into its history, we track down a stumbling block and then publicize it, whether it is a person, an entity, or an idea that we reject. Of course, friction and action generate some errors, no one can claim infallibility and help the other overcome his mistakes and try to close them, so most of the suspicions are sinful, and some of the suspicions that you think about the other is correct, so never overpower the little.
in conclusion
1 - It is not a shame to differ, as the difference shows your individuality and your distinction and that you are not a duplicate of one of them. It is important that you search for aspects of agreement before the disagreement while dealing with the other.
2 - Learn the etiquette of disagreement and do not be a duplicate copy of the Arabic talk show when disagreeing
3 - If God - the Almighty - wanted to create duplicate copies of the same shape, color, size, etc., He would have done it, but we were created different, so let us enjoy this difference.
4 - The clay of the earth is not one color, rather it is red, black and white, and some of it is difficult and easy, so I acknowledge the difference in the origin from which we were formed and there is no contradiction of the difference because it is a cosmic Sunnah and instinct.
