164 - sed to pray the Maghrib prayer when the sun had set and was hidden by the veil,

[164] Qutaybah told us, Hatim bin Ismail told us, on the authority of Yazid bin Abi Ubaidah, on the authority of Salamah bin Al-Akwa’, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to pray the Maghrib prayer when the sun had set and was hidden by the veil. He said: There is a hadith on this topic on the authority of Jabir, Al-Sunabhi, Zaid bin Khalid, Anas, Rafi’ bin Khadij, Abu Ayyub, Umm Habibah, Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib, Ibn Abbas, and the hadith of Al-Abbas, It has been narrated as a narration attributed to him, and this is more authentic. As-Sanabhi did not hear it from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he was the companion of Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him. Abu Isa said: The hadith of Salamah ibn al-Akwa’ is a good and authentic hadith, and it is the opinion of most of the scholars among the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and those who came after them from the followers. They chose to hasten the Maghrib prayer and disliked delaying it, to the point that some scholars said that there is only one time for the Maghrib prayer, and they went with the hadith of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in which Gabriel prayed it, and this is the opinion of Ibn al-Mubarak and al-Shafi’i.
