2310 - A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He does not wrong him or hand him over

[ 2310 ] حدثنا يحيى بن بكير حدثنا الليث عن عقيل عن ابن شهاب أن سالما أخبره أن عبد الله بن عمر رضى الله تعالى عنهما أخبره أن رسول الله ﷺ قال : المسلم أخو المسلم لا يظلمه ولا يسلمه ومن كان في حاجة أخيه كان الله في حاجته ومن فرج عن مسلم كربة فرج الله عنه كربة من كربات يوم القيامة ومن ستر مسلما ستره الله يوم القيامة

[2310] Yahya bin Bukair told us, Al-Layth told us, on the authority of Aqil, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, that Salim told him that Abdullah bin Omar, may God Almighty be pleased with them both, told him, The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He does not wrong him or hand him over, and whoever is in need of his brother, God will be in his need, and whoever relieves a Muslim of distress, God will relieve him of one of the distresses of the Day of Resurrection, and who will cover up a Muslim, God will cover him on the Day of Resurrection.
