3347 - PBUH would spend consecutive nights hungry, and his family would not find dinner, كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبِيتُ اللَّيَالِي الْمُتَتَابِعَةَ طَاوِيًا

٣٣٤٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبِيتُ اللَّيَالِي الْمُتَتَابِعَةَ طَاوِيًا، وَأَهْلُهُ لَا يَجِدُونَ الْعَشَاءَ، وَكَانَ عَامَّةَ خُبْزِهِمْ، خُبْزُ الشَّعِيرِ»

(طاويا) أي خالي البطن جائعا

3347 - Abdullah bin Muawiyah Al-Jumahi narrated: Thabit bin Yazid narrated, on the authority of Hilal bin Khabab, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said: “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, would spend consecutive nights hungry, and his family would not find dinner, and most of their bread was barley bread.”
