3675 - (Sahih) Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Sufyan ibn Uyaynah narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Ajlan, on the authority of Sa`id ibn Abi Sa`id, on the authority of Abu Shurayh al-Khuza`i, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest. His reward is a day and a night. It is not permissible for him to stay with his companion until he makes him uncomfortable. Hospitality is for three days, and whatever is spent on him after three days is charity.” [See Hadith: 3672, Tuhfat: 12056]
