The virtues of Saad bin Abi Waqqas

قوله : ( وهو سعد بن مالك ) أي اسم أبي وقاص مالك بن وهيب - ويقال أهيب - ابن عبد مناف بن زهرة بن كلاب بن مرة ، يجتمع مع النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - في كلاب بن مرة ، وعدد ما بينهما من الآباء متقارب ، وأمه حمنة بنت سفيان بن أمية بن عبد شمس لم تسلم ، مات بالعقيق سنة خمس وخمسين وقيل : بعد ذلك إلى ثمانية وخمسين ، وعاش نحوا من ثمانين سنة .

قوله : ( جمع لي النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - أبويه يوم أحد ) أي في التفدية ، وهي قوله : " فداك أبي وأمي " وبينه حديث علي ما جمع رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - أبويه لأحد غير سعد بن مالك ، فإنه جعل يقول له يوم أحد : ارم فداك أبي وأمي وقد تقدم في الجهاد . وفي هذا الحصر نظر لما تقدم في ترجمة الزبير أنه - صلى الله عليه وسلم - جمع له أبويه يوم الخندق ويجمع بينهما بأن عليا رضي الله عنه لم يطلع على ذلك ، أو مراده بذلك بقيد يوم أحد ، والله أعلم .

His saying: (And he is Sa`d ibn Malik) meaning the name of Abu Waqqas is Malik ibn Wahib - and it is said Ahayb - ibn Abd Manaf ibn Zuhra ibn Kilab ibn Murrah. He meets with the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - in Kilab ibn Murrah, and the number of fathers between them is close, and his mother is Hamna bint Sufyan ibn Umayya ibn Abd Shams, who did not convert to Islam. He died in Al-`Aqiq in the year fifty-five, and it was said: after that until fifty-eight, and he lived for about eighty years.

His saying: (The Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - gathered his parents for me on the day of Uhud) meaning in the ransom, which is his saying: “May my father and mother be sacrificed for you.” And between it is the hadith of Ali that the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - gathered his parents for someone other than Sa`d ibn Malik, for he kept saying to him on the day of Uhud: Shoot, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, and it was mentioned earlier in the jihad, In this limitation, we consider what was mentioned in the biography of Al-Zubayr, that he - may God bless him and grant him peace - gathered his parents for him on the day of the trench, and he combines them by saying that Ali, may God be pleased with him, did not know about that, or what he meant by that was the restriction of the day of Uhud, and God knows best.
