2839 - the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to change an ugly name النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يغير الاسم القبيح

[ 2839 ] حدثنا أبو بكر بن نافع البصري حدثنا عمر بن علي المقدمي عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه عن عائشة أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يغير الاسم القبيح قال أبو بكر وربما قال عمر بن علي في هذا الحديث هشام بن عروة عن أبيه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مرسل ولم يذكر فيه عن عائشة

[2839] Abu Bakr bin Nafi’ al-Basri told us, Umar bin Ali al-Muqaddami told us, on the authority of Hisham bin Urwa, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Aisha, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to change an ugly name. Abu Bakr said, and perhaps Umar bin Ali said in this hadith, Hisham bin Urwa, on the authority of his father, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, is mursal, and he did not mention in it on the authority of Aisha.
