6066- حدثني يحيى بن موسى: حدثنا وكيع: حدثنا إسماعيل، عن قيس قال:سمعت خبَّاباً، وقد اكتوى يومئذ سبعاً في بطنه، وقال: لولا أن رسول الله ﷺ نهانا أن ندعو بالموت لدعوت بالموت، إن أصحاب محمد ﷺ مضوا، ولم تنقصهم الدنيا بشيء، وإنا أصبنا من الدنيا ما لا نجد له موضعاً إلا التراب.
6066- Yahya bin Musa told me: Waki’ told us: Ismail told us, on the authority of Qais, he said: I heard Khabbab, who was stabbed by seven at that time, And he said: were it not that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade us to suplicate for death, I would have suplicated for death, the companions of Muhammad, peace be upon him, passed away, and the world did not lack them with anything, and we have attained from this world what we find no place for but dust.
