[911] Eating on the Day of Sacrifice

[911] حدثنا مسدد قال: حدثنا إسماعيل عن أيوب عن محمد عن أنس قال: قال النبي ﷺ من ذبح قبل الصلاة فليعد فقام رجل، فقال هذا يوم يشتهي فيه اللحم وذكر من جيرانه فكأن النبي ﷺ صدقه قال وعندي جذعة أحب إلي من شاتي لحم فرخص له النبي ﷺ فلا أدري أبلغت الرخصة من سواه أم لا

[911] Musaddad told us, he said: Ismail told us, on the authority of Ayyub, on the authority of Muhammad, on the authority of Anas, he said: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said Whoever slaughters before the prayer, let him repeat it. then a man got up and said, this is a day when he desires meat, He mentioned it from his neighbors, and it was as if the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, believed him. He said, “I have a trunk, It is more beloved to me than two meaty sheep, so the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, permitted it to him, I do not know whether the permission was communicated to anyone else or not.
