Does the surah have other names?
Yes (it is called Surah Al-Sakhaa, and the yellow) in the thirtieth part, it began with a past tense verb, he frowned and turned away, and the word majesty was not mentioned in it. The story of Abdullah bin Umm Maktoum was mentioned, which was revealed after Surat Al-Najm.
The Interpretation
Allah says
عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى (1)
He frowned and turned away (1)
The change and frown appeared in the face of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he turned away, It was mentioned that the blind man whom God mentioned in this verse was the son of Umm Maktum, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was blamed because of him.
On the authority of Urwa, on the authority of Aisha, she said:
(He frowned and turned away) was revealed about Ibn Umm Maktum. She said: He came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and began to say: Guide me. She said: And the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, is one of the great polytheists, She said: Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, turned away from him and turned to the other and said: “Do you see any harm in what I say? He says: No, for in this was revealed: (He frowned and turned away).
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said: (He frowned and turned away * when the blind man came to him) He said: “While the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was conversing with Utbah bin Rabi’ah, Abu Jahl bin Hisham, and Al-Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib, He would often confront them and offer them to believe, Then a blind man called Abdullah bin Umm Maktoum came to him, He walked while conversing with them, so Abdullah began to recite to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, a verse from the Qur’an, He said: O Messenger of God, teach me what God has taught you. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, turned away from him, frowned at him, and turned away.
Allah says
أَنْ جَاءَهُ الْأَعْمَى (2)
If the blind man came to him (2)
Because the blind man, Abdullah bin Umm Maktoum, came to him for guidance, and the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, was busy calling the elders of Quraysh to Islam.
About Mujahid
He said: A man from Banu Fihr, called: Ibn Umm Maktum.
It was mentioned to us that the Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, appointed him as his successor twice after that in charge of Medina in two raids, which he invaded and prayed with its people.
On the authority of Qatada, he said: Ibn Umm Maktum came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace
While he was speaking to Ubayy bin Khalaf, he turned away, so God revealed to him: (He frowned and turned away.) After that, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, honored him. Anas said: On the day of Al-Qadisiyah, I saw him wearing a shield and a black flag.
Allah says
وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّى (3)
And what makes you know that perhaps He will be purified? (3)
What makes you aware of its truth? Perhaps by asking him, his soul will be purified, God Almighty says in his mention of his Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace: And you do not know, O Muhammad, perhaps this blind man at whom you frowned will be purified.
Allah says
أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنْفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَى (4)
Or he remembers, so the remembrance benefits him (4)
Or he gets more respect and the rebuke
Allah says
أَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنَى (5)
As for he who is self-sufficient (5)
God Almighty says in His mention to His Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace: As for him who is self-sufficient with his wealth, you will be exposed to him, hoping that he will be safe.
Allah says
فَأَنْتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّى (6)
So you are his support (6)
On the authority of Sufyan
He said: It was revealed about Al-Abbas
On the authority of Mujahid, he said:
Utba bin Rabia and Shaybah bin Rabia said
Allah says
وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّى (7)
And you do not have to purify(7)
He says: What do you have to do that he does not purify himself from his disbelief and becomes Muslim? And what do you do that he does not purify himself from his disbelief?
Allah says
وَأَمَّا مَنْ جَاءَكَ يَسْعَى (8)
As for he who comes to you seeking (8)
(And as for him who comes to you seeking* while he is afraid)
As for this blind man who came to you in pursuit, and he fears and fears God, and as for the one who was keen to meet you
And he fears
(9) As for this blind man who came to you in pursuit, and he fears and fears God, or he fears God due to negligence in seeking guidance.
Allah says
فَأَنْتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّى (10)
Then you are distracted from him(10)
You turn away from him, and you are distracted from him by other things and ignore him
Allah says
كَلَّا إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ (11)
No, it is a reminder (11)
What is the matter as you do, O Muhammad, that you frown in the face of the one who comes to you striving and is afraid, and confront the one who is self-sufficient? This sermon and this surah are a reminder: He says: A sermon and a lesson. This surah is an admonition to you and to everyone who wants to take advice.
Allah says
فَمَنْ شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ (12)
So whoever wishes, he can mention him (12)
“His remembrance” is for revelation and revelation, so whoever wishes may remember God and complete His revelation.
Allah says
فِي صُحُفٍ مُكَرَّمَةٍ (13)
In honorable pages (13)
Meaning: In the Preserved Tablet, which is raised up and purified by God, this revelation, which is the Qur’an, in venerable, revered pages.
Allah says
مَرْفُوعَةٍ مُطَهَّرَةٍ (14)
raised and purified (14)
Meaning: in the Preserved Tablet, which is elevated and purified by God, high in status, purified from impurity, excess, and deficiency.
Allah says
بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ (15)
In the hands of ambassadors (15)
The people of interpretation differed as to what they are?
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, in his saying: (With the hands of a table) he says

Others said
They are the readers
Others said
They are angels
Ibn Zaid said
Travelers: those who count deeds.
An ambassador of the people: one who seeks reconciliation between them.
Allah says
كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ (16)
honorable and righteous (16)
Noble creatures, their morals and actions are righteous and pure
Allah says
قُتِلَ الْإِنْسَانُ مَا أَكْفَرَهُ (17)
Killing the human how much he disbelieves (17)
The astonishment at his disbelief despite God’s benevolence towards him and His hands with Him. The other: What do I disbelieve in, that is: anything I disbelieve in.
Allah says
مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ (18)
From whatever thing He created Him (18)
From what was created man who disbelieves in his Lord so that he becomes arrogant in obeying his Lord and acknowledging His monotheism?
Allah says
مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ (19)
From a droplet He created Him and estimated Him (19)
Allah says
ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ (21)
Then He die him and buried him (21)
He buried him) he means that he has a grave, and the graver: he is the one who buries the dead with his hand.
Allah says
ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْشَرَهُ (22)
Then, if He wishes, He will take him out of his grave (22)
It is said: God resurrected the dead in the sense that He brought him to lifeز
Allah says
كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَا أَمَرَهُ (23)
No, when He fulfills what He commanded (23)
The matter is not what the infidel says and does, for he did not follow what God commanded him to do of faith and work in obedience to Him
No one ever spends what he is supposed to do. Al-Harith said: Everything that was required of him
Allah says
فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْإِنْسَانُ إِلَى طَعَامِهِ (24)
Let man look at his food (24)
Let man ponder: How did God create his food, which is the basis of his life? Let this infidel man who denies the monotheism of God look at his food and how he has prepared it.
Allah says
أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاءَ صَبًّا (25)
Indeed, We poured water pouring it forth (25)
We sent down rain from the sky and poured it upon it in rain.
Allah says
ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْأَرْضَ شَقًّا (26)
Then We divided the earth into fissures (26)
Then we divided the earth and divided it with plants, then we divided it with what we brought out of it of various plants.
Allah says
فَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّا (27)
Then We planet grains therein (27)
(So We caused to grow therein grain) meaning: the grain of crops, which is all the grains that the earth produces, such as wheat, barley, and other things.
Allah says
وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا (28)
And grapes, fresh dates from fodder for animals (28)
Allah says
وَزَيْتُونًا وَنَخْلًا (29)
And olives and palm trees (29)
It is what has curled up from trees and gathered together.
Allah says
وَحَدَائِقَ غُلْبًا (30)
And lush gardens (30)
He said: Gardens: what is gathered together.
the tall palm tree.
Allah says
وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًّا (31)
And fruits and Grass (31)
Al'b: What's eat in the Pasture ( The grass for the animals)
Allah says
مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ (32)
As a provision for you and for your livestock (32)
(A provision for you and your livestock) He said: A provision for you is fruit, and grass for your livestock.
Allah says
فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ (33)
Then when the cry came (33)
Then when the cry of Resurrection (ِِAl - sakhah) comes (33)
When the cry of the Day of Resurrection comes that will deafen the ears, one of the names of the Resurrection, One of the names of the Day of Resurrection, God glorified it and warned His servants.
Allah says
يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ (34)
The day a man will flee from his brother (34)
A day when a person flees from his brother due to the horror of that day. If the scream comes on this day.
Allah says
وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ (35) وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ (36)
And his mother and father (35) and his companion and his children (36)
Meaning: his wife, who was his wife in this world (and his children), wary of their demands of him regarding the consequences and grievances between him and them. Some of them said: The meaning of his saying: (A man flees from his brother) is that he flees from his brother so that he does not see him, and what befalls him.
Allah says
لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ (37)
On that day, every one of them will have a matter that will make him independent (37)
It gave every person what distracts him from other people
On the authority of Anas, he said: Aisha asked the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and she said:
O Messenger of God, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you. I asked you about a hadith that you told me. He said: “If I have knowledge of it, She said: O Prophet of God, how will the men be gathered? He said: “Barefoot and naked, Then she waited an hour and said: O Prophet of God, how will the women be gathered together? He said: “Likewise, barefoot and naked.” She said: “what is worse than the Day of Resurrection, He said: “And you ask me about that? Indeed, a verse was revealed to me, It does not matter whether you have clothes on or not, She said: What sign is it, O Prophet of God? He said: (Every one of them will have a matter on that day that will en depended him.) A matter that has occupied it for his friend.
Allah says
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُسْفِرَةٌ (38)
Faces that Day will be illuminated (38)
The faces of the people of bliss on that day will be bright and luminous, and they are the faces of the believers with whom God has been pleased, It is said: So-and-so’s face is bright: if it is beautiful, and from it is the brightness of the morning: when it shines, and everything that shines is bright.
Allah says
ضَاحِكَةٌ مُسْتَبْشِرَةٌ (39)
Laughing and rejoicing (39)
Happy, joyful (laughing) He says: Laughing from happiness at what God has given her of bliss and dignity (rejoicing) because of the increase she hopes for, These are the people of Paradise.
Allah says
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ (40)
And faces that Day will be covered with dust (40)
On that day, they will be the faces of the infidels, covered with dust. It was mentioned that the animals that God will turn to dust on that day after He has judged between them, that dust turns the faces of the people of disbelief into dust, and the faces of the people of Hell become dark and black.
Allah says
تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ (41)
Dust overwhelms it (41)
it is covered with humiliation.
These are the faces of the people of Hell. He said: And Qutrah is from the dust. He said: They are one and the same. He said: As for in this world, Qutrah: whatever rose, caught up with the sky, and was lifted by the wind, the Arabs call it Qutrah, and whatever was lower on the earth is dust.
Allah says
أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ (42)
Those are the immoral infidels (42)
Those described in this way are those who disbelieved in the blessings of God, denied His signs, and dared to transgress His prohibitions through immorality and tyranny.
Those who will have this description on the Day of Resurrection are the disbelievers in God. They were immoral in their religion in this world, not caring what they committed of disobedience to God, And they rode among His forbidden things, so God rewarded them for their evil deeds, as He told His servants.
