أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلۡمَلَإِ مِنۢ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مُوسَىٰٓ إِذۡ قَالُواْ لِنَبِيّٖ لَّهُمُ ٱبۡعَثۡ لَنَا مَلِكٗا نُّقَٰتِلۡ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۖ قَالَ هَلۡ عَسَيۡتُمۡ إِن كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡقِتَالُ أَلَّا تُقَٰتِلُواْۖ قَالُواْ وَمَا لَنَآ أَلَّا نُقَٰتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَدۡ أُخۡرِجۡنَا مِن دِيَٰرِنَا وَأَبۡنَآئِنَاۖ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقِتَالُ تَوَلَّوۡاْ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا مِّنۡهُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمُۢ بِلظَّٰلِمِينَ (246)
Have you not seen the elite of Israel after Moses, when they said to a prophet of theirs, “Send us a king, so we can fight in the way of God, He said: Would you not kill if fighting was prescribed for you, They said, "Why should we not kill in the cause of God, when we have been expelled from our homes, and our fathers, so when fighting was prescribed for them, they turned away, except a few of them, and God is Knowing of the unjust (246)
The Almighty tells His Prophet the story of the chiefs of the Children of Israel, who are the nobles and the chiefs
The mullahs were singled out for mention, because they are usually the ones who search for their interests in order to agree, and others follow them on what they see, nd that is because they came to a prophet of theirs after Moses, peace be upon him, and they said to him {Send us a king} that is: appoint a king for us {we will fight in the way of God} Let our dispersed gather and resist our enemy through us, and perhaps at that time they will not have a leader to unite them, as was the custom of the tribes who own houses, Each house is not satisfied that the other house has a president, so they sought from their prophet to appoint a king that satisfies both parties, and his appointment is special for their revenues.
God Almighty tells this story to the nation
so that they consider and desire jihad, and do not turn away from it, for the patient have become the praiseworthy consequences in this world and the Hereafter; They lost both matters, so the Almighty told that the people of opinion are among the children of Israel, They deliberated about jihad, and agreed to ask their Prophet to appoint a king for them, to end the conflict by appointing him, and to obtain complete obedience; and there is no saying left for an article.
A look at the verse
Before we proceed to one or more insights about the noble verse, we invite you to read about the idea of self-entitlement written below this speech, here we will interpret word by word in the verse. Didn't you see
We said before that, when God - the Most High - uses it to gather your attention with Him - Glory be to Him - do not read it while your mind is empty or distracted in other things, because God is the one who will show you the scene that you did not contemplate.
to the elite
the elite, with whom the first ranks in any council are filled, the white-collar people - if you can speak correctly -
of the children of Israel
Here we learned that they are the elite of the Children of Israel
After Moses, when they said to a prophet of theirs, “Send us a king, so we can fight in the way of God.”
So they are not the contemporary Jews of Moses - peace be upon him - who wandered in the desert, but perhaps their rich descendants, so they said a claim and not words from the heart (send us a king) they are elite and used to the rich and they want a king who would lead them in the war against their enemies
He said, "Would it be that if fighting was ordained for you, you would not kill?"
Their Prophet told them this: He wants to verify that it is just empty sayings devoid of truth, Or is it a real intention to fight, and the rich and affluent seldom abandon their beloved things to themselves and fight to die and leave them.
They said, "Why should we not fight in the cause of God, when we have been expelled from our homes and our parents?"
This was their response, that they admitted that their enemies drove them out of their homes unjustly and aggressively, and they took their children from them either by killing or capturing or otherwise.
So when fighting was ordained for them, they turned back, except for a few of them
The spark of fighting began to appear, so all of them except a few of them were the ones who fought, and the rest were many.
they turned their backs on fighting, or took care of their own affairs, or otherwise, and Allah is All-Knowing of the wrongdoers
Here God - the Almighty - described them as unjust, unjust to whom? Allah? Hash and no, for their prophet?
It is not permissible even though they are the killers of the prophets. Rather, here is the injustice to themselves, because they are the ones who asked and made promises to themselves by saying (And why should we not fight...) As if he was determined, and we all know that God’s covenant is responsible, so do not make a covenant with your Lord about something that you will ever do, unless you know with certainty from yourself that you will do it, and it is better that you abandon God’s treaty, because we are weak in souls, except for those who have mercy from God.
وَقَالَ لَهُمۡ نَبِيُّهُمۡ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدۡ بَعَثَ لَكُمۡ طَالُوتَ مَلِكٗاۚ قَالُوٓاْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لَهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ عَلَيۡنَا وَنَحۡنُ أَحَقُّ بِٱلۡمُلۡكِ مِنۡهُ وَلَمۡ يُؤۡتَ سَعَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلۡمَالِۚ قَالَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصۡطَفَىٰهُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَزَادَهُۥ بَسۡطَةٗ فِي ٱلۡعِلۡمِ وَٱلۡجِسۡمِۖ وَٱللَّهُ يُؤۡتِي مُلۡكَهُۥ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٞ (247)
And their Prophet said to them, "God has sent you Talut, as a king, How can he have dominion over us, and we have more right to dominion than him? and he was not given an abundance of wealth. He said, "Indeed, God has chosen him over you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and the body, And God gives His kingdom to whom He wills, and God is Encompassing, Knowing (247)
That is, how can he be king when he is below us in honor and lineage, and we are more worthy of kingship than him? Despite this, he is poor and does not have what the king can do in terms of money, and this is based on their corrupt assumption, which is that kingship and the like of states are necessary for the honor of lineage and the abundance of money, and they did not know that the true attributes, which had to be given precedence over it, and this is why their Prophet said to them: {Indeed, God chose him over you} so you must submit to that {and he increased him abundantly in knowledge and body} Meaning: His grace over you with knowledge and body, meaning: with the strength of opinion and body with which the affairs of the kingdom are completed, because if his opinion is complete and he is able to implement what the right opinion necessitates, then he will achieve that perfection, and when he misses one of the two matters, the matter becomes disordered for him.
and that the king is not a lot of money; Nor is its owner one of those who were king and sovereign in their homes, God gives His kingdom to whomever He wills
A look at the verse
Their prophet told them that God had sent you a king
This is an acknowledgment of God's will - the Almighty - choosing Taloot to be the king over them, their response was: How can he have sovereignty over us? (A review of their Prophet, and upon the will of God - the Almighty -) and we are more deserving of the king than him (didn't I tell you that it is an idea of self-entitlement that is not trustworthy) then they began to list the reasons for saying that he did not deserve the king and that they deserve him instead, (He was not given an abundance of money) and they are rich, and we agree on that, they are a rich elite from the children of Israel.
Their Prophet said 3 reasons are the reason why God - the Almighty - chose Taloot:
1 - Too much knowledge... It seems that they are military science or God knows best, and it is a metaphor for the importance of science and scholars.
2 - Strong build (characteristics of the ideal soldier in military battles)
3 - And God bestows His kingdom on whom He wills... that is, do not talk about this matter
And here: Read below about the idea of entitlement, then return your eyes to the verse again and you will find that it was fully realized in the elite of the Children of Israel who told their Prophet that.
What is the entitlement?
Entitlement includes all aspects of life, health, money, relationships, to maintain a balanced state of human life. Entitlement is a state of integration between thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and material possession.
It is important to work to increase entitlement
Because that supports the person, the higher the merit, the higher the self-esteem, and the lower the merit, the lower the self-esteem
More importantly
You deserve when you are the owner of the right, and you are not fake or pretending, and if the entitlement decreases, self-destruction is evident
Is merit all material?
It is certain that material things are a necessity, but they remain a catalyst for raising entitlement, such as taking care of appearance, and possessing basic needs with the available capabilities.
Who have delusions of entitlement?
Narcissists who suffer from superficial false self-inflation, their excessive sense of entitlement makes them seek to force others to comply and submit, and do not accept review of their mistakes and do not accept criticism.
وَقَالَ لَهُمۡ نَبِيُّهُمۡ إِنَّ ءَايَةَ مُلۡكِهِۦٓ أَن يَأۡتِيَكُمُ ٱلتَّابُوتُ فِيهِ سَكِينَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ وَبَقِيَّةٞ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ءَالُ مُوسَىٰ وَءَالُ هَٰرُونَ تَحۡمِلُهُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ (248)
And their Prophet said to them, “The sign of his kingdom is that the coffin should come to you, in which is a tranquility from your lord, and the rest of what the family of Musa and the family of Harun left will be borne by the angels, In that there is a sign for you, if you are believers (248)
A look at the verse
Then their prophet went away and said to them: The appearance of this king (Taloot) is a sign that the coffin that they lost for a long time from the days of Moses and Aaron - peace be upon them - will come to you, and the first thing they see will be tranquility in their hearts... The first nice
Praise be to God for the blessing of glorification in Islam (...glorify the praise of your Lord before sunrise and before its setting, glorify Him during the hours of the night, and at the ends of the day, so perhaps contentment is a type of tranquility) The contentment is a kind of peace and no matter how messy you are and glorify your heart, you will find peace in your heart - Glory be to God -
The second nice
The Jews are materialistic people and they love appearances very much, so it is not surprising that the owners of the best international brands in clothes are Jews, and it is not surprising that they are in perfumes as well, and it is not surprising that theories that talk about materialism appear through them - there is no evidence - but materialism or materialism is a theory on which other theories in the West are based, such as individualism and others, which makes the individual person a worshiper of himself before he worships anything else. unfortunately, the East absorbs this more and more, so it is not surprising that the appearance of a black Friday and another white Friday and other names that have nothing to do with Islam from the right or the left, Friday is a blessed Friday in Islam and in it the creation of Adam, and to it we will be resurrected, God willing.
Third nice
The presence of the righteous, or even the existence of a trace of their traces in life, inspires faith in the hardened hearts that have forgotten faith in God, and look around you, and you will see - for example - without limitation, the books of Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawi are inspiring for people in the East and West to this day, may God have mercy on him and the great scholars of the nation. Amen
last word
We must feel the entitlement in our souls, because this will raise our self-esteem which is what we really need, but the idea that we are defending psychological defenses is immature, and we say that we deserve what God Almighty has bestowed on others - for it is as if it was an act of the elite of the children of Israel - so do not be a Jew in yourself and then pretend to be hostile to the Jews.
