Surat Ash-Shu'ara 371

Updated: Jun 15

Allah says

And give me a tongue of truth in others (84) And make me among the heirs of the Garden of Bliss (85) And forgive my father, for he was of those who went astray (86) And do not disgrace me on the day they are resurrected (87) A Day when neither wealth nor children will benefit (88) Except he who comes to Allah with a sound heart. (89) And Paradise is near to the righteous. (90) And Hell has been made prominent to those who go astray (91) And it was said to them Wherever you worship (92) Other than God, will they victor you or victor themselves (93) So they were turn one over the other into it, they and the deviants (94) and all of Satan’s hosts (95) They said while they were disputing therein (96) By God, we are indeed in clear error (97) When We made you equal to the Lord of the Worlds (98) And We led astray only the criminals (99) So we have no intercessors (100) and no intimate friend (101) If only we could have a chance, then we would be of the believers. (102) Indeed, in that is a sign. And most of them are not believers. (103) And indeed, your Lord is Almighty, Most Merciful (104) You denied the people of Noah, the messengers (105) When their brother Noah said to them, “Do you not fear?” (106) Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. (107) So fear God and obey me (108) and I ask you no reward for it. My reward is only with the Lord of the worlds (109) So pious Allah and obey me (110) ۞ ۞ They said, “We believe in you,” and the wretched followed you. (111)

The Interpretation of Imam al-Tabari - may God have mercy on him -

(And give me a tongue of truth among others) so that the nations will not deny me. So God granted him that, for the Jews believed in Moses and disbelieved in Jesus, and the Christians believed in Jesus and disbelieved in Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and they all follow Abraham.

Grant me, O Lord, the status of Paradise among those of Your enemies who have perished, who polytheize You, and grant me peace of mind in that.

Forgive my father for his association with you, and do not punish him for it. (Indeed, he was among those who went astray.) He says: He was among those who strayed from the path of guidance and disbelieved in you.

And do not humiliate me by punishing me on the day you raise your servants from their graves to the place of Resurrection.

Do not disgrace me on the day when whoever disbelieves in you and disobeys you in this world will not benefit from the wealth he had in this world, nor his children who were his in it, and that will ward off the punishment of God when He punishes him, and will not save him from it.

(Except he who comes to God with a sound heart) He said: There is no doubt about it that God, glory be to Him, is one, He is free from polytheism. As for sins, no one is safe from them, or he is a pure heart.

Paradise has been brought closer and closer to the righteous, those who fear God’s punishment in the Hereafter by obeying Him in this world.

And the Fire will appear to those who have gone astray and strayed from the straight path.

(Wherever you worship instead of Allah) of equals.

(Will they help you) today from God, and save you from His torment (or will they help) themselves, and save them from what is intended for them?

Throw some of them into Hell upon one another, and cast them upon one another, lying flat on their faces.

(And the hosts of Satan, all of them) He says: And the whole hosts of Satan stumbled upon it with the rivals and deviants. And his soldiers: everyone who was among his followers, whether he was from his descendants or from the descendants of Adam.

These deviants and the rivals whom they used to worship instead of God and the soldiers of Satan said, and they are in Hell disputing

By God, we have been turning away from the truth, indeed, we are in clear error. Our turning away from it, on its own, makes clear to anyone who contemplates and contemplates it that it is error and falsehood.

The misguided say to those who worship them instead of God: By God, if we are in deviation from the truth when we treat you equally with the Lord of the worlds, then we worship you instead of Him. and about which we said the people of interpretation.

By criminals he means Satan, and the son of Adam who make the murder: sunnah.

We have no intercessor who can intercede for us with God from those far away, pardon us, and save us from His punishment,

o we have no intercessors.) He said

From angels to people

brother

(If only we had a chance, then we would be among the believers.) He says: If we were to return to this world and believe in God, then we would be among the believers, by our faith in Him.

Among the arguments that Abraham used against his people, among the arguments that we mentioned to him, are clear evidence for whoever considers that the Sunnah of God is in His creation, those who follow the Sunnah of Abraham’s people of worshiping idols and gods, And they imitate in this what was enacted for them in the Hereafter, from their oppression and that which they worshiped besides Him along with the soldiers of Satan in hell, and most of them were not believers before his knowledge.

Indeed, your Lord, O Muhammad, is severe in vengeance on those who worshiped other than Him, and then did not repent of their disbelief until they perished. He is Most Merciful to those who repent among them, to punish them for the sins and crimes that they had committed before their repentance.

(You denied the people of Noah) the messengers of God whom He sent to them

When (their brother Noah said to them, “Will you not fear Him?”), then beware of His punishment for your disbelief in Him and your disbelief in His Messengers.

(Indeed, I am a messenger to you) from God (Trustful) according to His revelation to me, through His message to you.

God Almighty says: So fear the punishment of God, O people, for your disbelief in Him, and obey me in my advice to you, and I command you to fear Him.

I do not ask of you for my advice to you and my command of you to avoid God’s punishment by obeying Him in what He has commanded you and forbidden you, in terms of reward or reward (My reward is only from the Lord of the worlds) without you and without all of God’s creation.

So fear God’s punishment for your disbelief in Him, and fear His wrath upon you for denying His Messengers, and obey: He says: And obey me in my advice to you, and my command to you to sincerely worship your Creator.

God Almighty says: The people of Noah, his respondents, said to him about what he said to them: Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. * So fear God and obey them. They said: Do we believe in you, O Noah, and acknowledge your belief in what you call us to? But only the humble among us followed you, not the honorable and the people of homes.

A view around the verses
With the rest of the story of Abraham - peace be upon him -
And give me a tongue of truth in others

A tongue of honesty: that is: no favoritism - no vain praise - no lying when they mention me, and you are aware that every human being among us has a biography that is told in the state of his life and the state of his death, and it is from the core of his livelihood, on the contrary, what is said about us after death is that our sustenance is greater than our sustenance while we are alive. The lovers add more talk about their beloved who was shown to be dust, and the haters add more slander about their dead person who was shown to be dust, and in both of those additions: it is a lie, the excessive speech through praise or slander. Excessive speech is a lie, moderation is better, and honesty is firm speech that does not require any addition or subtraction. Therefore, our master Abraham - peace be upon him - understood that, and when he asked for sustenance after death (he mentioned the dead in the gatherings) to be true, and we others (the nation of Muhammad - may God bless him and grant him peace) and indeed we remember our master Abraham in prayer. Every Muslim on the face of the earth prays, We remember him on Eid al-Adha, and when we mention him we only say good, and from the good there is no increase or decrease. He does not need an increase in his work, for his work is accepted, and he does not need a decrease or detraction from his honorable status due to hatred in him - God forbid -

The Stranger than that

The three known heavenly religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) each claim that Abraham, peace be upon him, was among them. God Almighty says

(Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a Hanif Muslim, and he was not of the polytheists (67)

And make me among the heirs of the Garden of Bliss

Imagine, just imagine, that the friend of God - peace be upon him - asks God - the Almighty - to make him one of the heirs of the Garden of Bliss, this humility - this knowledge of his limit, even though God loved him. Our master Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq - may God be pleased with him, used to say (I do not believe in the deception of God. If I bring my right foot into Paradise, I will enter with my left foot.) This is one, as for the other: Look at the word (heirs). When we die, some of us leave a large legacy and others leave no legacy at all, according to capacity. our master Abraham made us understand that the best legacy is the legacy of Paradise, and it is a legacy that is taken by request (supplication) and not by good deeds. There is no one who did good deeds among the first and last generations like our master Abraham did.

And forgive my father, for he was one of those who went astray

In a verse in another surah, Abraham - peace be upon him - says (And when Abraham said to his father: Azar), and this is what some scholars have taken from it, that Azar is not his biological father, But his uncle is his father's brother. the Arabs do not say the name with the word father, that is, whether he is really his father or his uncle. He asked God - the Almighty - to forgive his father because he was one of those who strayed from the path of truth, regarding Abraham’s call for the oneness of God - the Almighty - and the tolerant Hanifism, and his arrogance and continued to worship idols, we said that it seems that he was a well-known antiques dealer in his country, That is, he is rich and trades in worshiped idols, so he has a voice heard among his people and perhaps authority, and Abraham - peace be upon him - when he was a young man of age stood before him and all of his people, and he rejected guidance and remained astray.

And do not disgrace me on the day they are resurrected, a day when wealth and children will be of no use

Disgrace: shame, humiliation, and it is a worldly supplication before it is an afterlife. It is a supplication that he will not be reproached for anything in the afterlife. It means to be upright in this world, so that he will not be reproached for anything in the afterlife, and God is Most High and All-Knowing.

Day neither wealth nor sons are benefit

The jurisprudence of our master Abraham - peace be upon him - is that on the Day of Resurrection, the money he collected throughout his life will be of no use (although the inheritance of prophecy is knowledge, not money) It is of no use: children, so each one will come to him on the Day of Resurrection individually, but if his neck is responsible for him, like young children, then he will also be asked about them.

Except he who comes to God with a sound heart

What do you know about the difference between the heart and the Foaad in the Qur’an?

Heart: It comes in signs of mercy and reassurance of God’s decrees

Al Foaad: It comes in verses of distress, fear, and panic, and the evidence

God Almighty says in the same verse

The Foaad of Musa’s mother became empty, (10) She would almost have appeared what's inside it, had We not strengthened her heart so that she might be of the believers. (10)

So the foaad came at a time when Musa’s mother was terrified for her son, and when she was reassured of the decrees of God - the Almighty - the heart took the place of the foaad, and this is mentioned in the rest of the Qur’an.

The jurisprudence of our master Ibrahim - peace be upon him -

On the Day of Resurrection, you only need a sound heart, and what is the meaning of a sound heart? Scholars have written illustrated books on this topic, and we will summarize them in two sentences, God willing: A sound heart: one in which there is neither deceit nor envy for anybody especially for Muslims, Do not deceive a Muslim or a non-Muslim, do not harm anyone out of envy, hatred, hatred, etc., they are afflictions of hearts, and what is the problem then? We all inherit hearts as clean as white paper, never a black spot, this is a claim, and a sound heart at the time of death (prosperity) and whoever lives on something dies on it, so if you want to meet God Almighty with a sound heart, prepare from now and not tomorrow

Think,

Have you fainted since today? Did you hate me from today? I was jealous of whom. I was jealous of whom? Today is not yesterday. We need a process of restoration of a heart full of hatred and envy, not for the enemies of God, but for the sons of Islam.

Pause with the verse

Have you noticed that the Father of the Prophets: He is the one who asks God, not in this world (the moment of separation leading to the Day of Resurrection) for a sound heart to come to him?

And you

Have you asked your Lord today to meet Him with the heart of an innocent child? What is the heart of an innocent child? He laughs from the heart, grieves from the heart, and forgives from the heart, He fights you and then laughs in your face if you give him a gift from bonbon. Do you and I have a healthy heart in our chests?

And Paradise has been granted to the righteous

The verses went out of the context of each story of Abraham, peace be upon him, and began in a broader context. Sometimes you need to look forward and not at your feet to see the clearer and purer picture. Many people, especially if they are abusive families and you are well with them and with your Lord, oppress life with their behavior, The world is vast and expansive, so you need to open the windows of your chest to what is broader, more welcoming, and more luminous than what you are in. This is how God - the Almighty - teaches us by commenting on the incomplete story of Abraham in this Surah by talking about big things that are far from the small picture in which we live. He said - Glory be to Him who says : And Paradise is brought near, not to anyone, but to the pious - perhaps you are one of the pious.

Hell has emerged for the sinners

It is the custom of the Qur’an (the opposite), and yet the words did not appear in reverse. In the case of Paradise (it is brought near to the righteous), but in the case of Hell - may God protect you while we are from it - it became prominent, meaning that it was apparent, but it became more prominent so that fear and aversion to it would prevail, But for whom does the fire emerge? For the seducers and who are the seducers? He is unjust and deeply misguided. Temptation transgresses against others, and injustice transgresses against others, so do not be in either of them for a day, for it does not lapse with time and you only have what you have striven for and given.

And it was said to them, “Wherever you worship (92) besides Allah, will they support you or be victorious?” (93)

And it will be said to the people of Hell: In which country did you worship partners with God? Have you never heard of the oneness of God? Can they save you now from this emerging fire, or can they help themselves and get out of it... And God is Most High and All-Knowing.

So, they were thrown into it, they and the deviants (94) and all the hosts of Satan (95)

So they placed one of another in the Fire, the polytheists and the misguided - may God protect us -

They said, “And they are disputing therein.” (96) “By God, if we are in clear error.” (97)

Imagine the scene. They are on top of each other in a burning fire - may God protect us - and they are fighting in it. What is this life? Then he says to each other: By God: We were among our families, our clans, and our friends in our country in which we lived in clear error.

When We made you equal to the Lord of the Worlds (98)

And all their problem - may God protect us - is that they equated the alleged gods with the Lord of the Worlds, and we said and we say: that at the end of our era in the twenty-first century there are approximately 4000 earthly religions, and others estimate them at 7000 earthly religions, which have gods, messengers, holy books and perhaps Hajj. Yes, exactly as you read, and we will not forget hypocrisy (polytheism of the nation of Muhammad - may God bless him and grant him peace). May God protect you and protect us.

And We led astray only the criminals (99)

All this infallible sermon is in Hell, and while they quarrel, they have not forgotten those who led them astray, and they even call them criminals, because they committed a felony and attached it to them, and they are the ones who bore the consequences... We ask God for well-being by His grace.

So we have no intercessors (100) nor any intimate friend (101) so if we had a chance then we would be among the believers

They knew with certainty that they had no intercessors to take them out of the Fire, nor a close friend, as if they were teaching us the value of a close friend in this life. A close friend: sincere in love, one who benefits you and does not harm you, who walks with you to all that is good and does not stab you in the back, It will not cause you to enter the fire of this world or the fire of the hereafter, and then they hope that they will return to this world to be among the believers... This is their utmost wish.

(102) Indeed, in that is a sign. And most of them are not believers. (103) And indeed, indeed, your Lord is the Mighty, the Most Merciful. (104)

For those who ask: What are the signs of God that if we deny them, God - the Almighty - will be angry with us? This is one of the signs of God. Did He not send you the Qur’an: Have you heard it - read it - read its interpretation even once? You have received the signs of God (the consequences) and a vivid scene that will happen in Hell - may God protect us and you from its heat and flames.

The story of Abraham - peace be upon him - has ended and we can benefit from it as follows:

1 - The eldest is great in his thoughts, not in his age. The sixteen-year-old stood and denounced all his people for their wrong worship.

2 - Psychological courage = politeness. Disagreeing does not mean that you will offend those around you. Disagree and acknowledge your disagreement but be polite.

3 - The story of Abraham taught us: that supplication is the essence of worship, and supplication is directed entirely to God, even if we surround an entire village. We turn to the sky and supplicate for whatever we want, not to supplicate on the media.

4 - Do not be sad about the deep experiences in life that are psychologically and perhaps physically painful. When we are afflicted with something that saddens us, we turn to family and friends, If the toxins are from them, then your internal front is cut off, and if you have enemies on your external front, then who can you resort to except to God - the Almighty - and this is what was embodied in the story of our master Abraham.

5 - We learned from the story of Abraham - peace be upon him - that deeds that are glorious at the time are not looked at, but after a while they glorify their performer.

Noah's people denied the messengers (105)

A new story from the stories of the prophets in Surat Al-Shu’ara. All these stories are for the sake of the beloved Muhammad - may God bless him and grant him peace - because the Quraysh claimed that he was a poet while he was not a poet - may God bless him and grant him peace, Here is Noah - peace be upon him - from the beginning of the stories of the prophets. It was said that Adam - peace be upon him - had the first heavenly message to the earth. It was said that the Prophet of God was Sheth - peace be upon him. It was also said that he was Idris - peace be upon him, Whatever it was, God will now tell us the story of Noah - peace be upon him, and he began the story with Noah’s people denying him, and Noah’s people lived a long time, so Noah - peace be upon him - lived 950 years, and so were the lives of Noah’s nation - peace be upon him, so his people all lied, not Noah. Not only but all the messengers who were sent to them.

When their brother Noah said to them, “Will you not fear me?” (106) Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy Messenger (107) So fear Allah and obey me (108)

Look at the wording (their brother Noah). This is a brotherhood of religion, not a brotherhood by lineage. This is a tribal brotherhood, not a brotherhood by lineage. A small request from Noah - peace be upon him - to his people (Do you not fear?) Then he informed them that he is a messenger from God - glory be to Him - that he is trustworthy to me. This message, and review them again (so fear God and obey me)

And I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the Lord of the worlds. (109) So, fear Allah and obey me. (110)

It is important that when you are going to give someone a lesson in religion, you do not take a reward - perhaps it is the fullest, the best, and the most complete - as people view the recipient of the reward as a profession and not a calling, but scholars have sayings and sayings in this field, as it is a deduction of valuable time, The teacher of religion worked and stayed up and studied until he reached the point of teaching, whether at home, in the mosque, or in school, or people naturally underestimate the calamity in which you do not pay money, whatever it may be: The prophets: they did not receive a reward, and their reward was due to God, so if you are one of wage earners, So hide for yourself something hidden between you and God without reward, so that you can reach God - the Almighty - at the end of the journey while you have a card (I taught without reward). and God is superior and knows best. Most of his requests - peace be upon him - were (Fear God) and obey

۞ They said, “We believe in you,” and the wretched followed you. (111)

Al Eazal: ugly, vile

They are the elite of the people (the elite), with high white collars, clean clothes, and dirty hearts. They view those who believed in Noah - peace be upon him - as ugly, and they cannot meet with the vile people!!!
