- 5297 - Did you Permit me to give those

[R: 2225]. 18 - Chapter: Does a man ask permission from someone on his right to drink in order to give the greater? 5297 - Ismail told us, he said: Malik told me, on the authority of Abu Hazim bin Dinar, On the authority of Sahl bin Saad, may God be pleased with him: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, was brought a drink and drank from it, and on his right a boy, and on his left the old men, so he said to the boy: (Permit me to give these). The boy said: By God, O Messenger of God, I do not favor anyone with my share of yours. He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, put it in his hand.

We benefit from the noble hadith

1 - It is permissible for the host to start drinking if he is from the upper class, for the Messenger of God started drinking because he knew that the Companions wanted to be blessed with the bounty of his water - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.

2 - The permission of the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - asked the boy on his right, who had just reached puberty, before he spoke to the sheikhs - which is not western etiquette - Where starting with the lofty people and adults - is a kind of appreciation of children and appreciation of young people who have not yet grown up, and this deserves to be celebrated, and it is an appreciation of childhood that the West calls for today.

3 - Not allowing the child to drink from one of the adults before him after the Messenger of God - bad manners - in our time today, except that he is safe from punishment from the Messenger of God, Unless he is daring and unusual, which suggests the uniqueness of his personality.

4 - The Messenger - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - put it in his hand and the matter was over. He did not reprimand him, did not say anything to him that annoyed him, and we did not hear in the hadith that the sheikhs got upset or over their voices, how did this happen?

Etiquette of Muslims - so to speak - at the beginning of Islam - wish we would return to it -
