5446 - حدثنا إسماعيل قال: حدثني مالك، عن نافع، وعبد الله بن دينار، وزيد بن أسلم: يخبرونه عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما: أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: (لا ينظر الله إلى من جر ثوبه خيلاء).
5446 - Ismail told us, he said: Malik told me, on the authority of Nafi’, Abdullah bin Dinar, and Zaid bin Aslam: they tell him on the authority of Ibn Omar, may God be pleased with them: that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “God does not look at the one who drags his clothes out of arrogance.”
The Hadith urges us to
Not to be arrogant, but if you wear long clothes and it scuffs from its length, but within you is humility, then there is nothing against you, and God is higher and knows best.
