Who is Solomon, peace be upon him? Do new generations carry the best of what old generations carry? Does life go with development and not backwardness, and what is the fate of those who lag behind? Does our agreement or disagreement with the inevitability of the succession of generations and that goodness reaches the generation after us and is more at its hands than at our hands affect the psychological well-being of normal people? Let us learn about some of these meanings through the biography of the just king Solomon, peace be upon him.
Who is Suleiman?
He is Solomon bin Dwwud bin Isha bin Owaid bin Baaz bin Salmon bin Nahshon bin Ammi Nadeb bin Ram bin Hezron bin Perez bin Judah bin Jacob bin Isaac bin Abraham
When did he inherit the kingdom from his father David - peace be upon him -?
Solomon, peace be upon him, was one of those to whom God gave kingship and wisdom at an advanced age. David, peace be upon him, died when Solomon was twelve years old, so God gave him what He had not given anyone in the world like him. After he had given him kingship four years later, that is, when he was sixteen years old, he began building the Temple of Jerusalem, this was based on what his father had recommended to him, and he continued building for seven years, where he finished building eleven years after assuming power. Then after that, he began his work in building the royal palace in Jerusalem, and he continued building for thirteen years.
What did Solomon's army consist of?
Jinn + humans + birds + wind
We began to told the stories about Solomon - peace be upon Him
1 - What is the house that God Almighty asked Solomon to build for Him?
On the authority of Rafi’ bin Umair, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: “God Almighty said to Dwwud, peace be upon him: Build me a house on earth. So Dwwud built a house for himself before the house he was commanded to build, and God revealed to him: O Dwwud, did you build your house before my house? He said: O Lord, this is what You decreed from a king who took possession of it and then began building the mosque. When the wall was completed, it fell three times, so he complained about that to Allah - the Almighty and Majestic - and He said: O Dwwud, you are not fit to build me a house. He said: Why, O Lord? He said: Because of the blood that flowed on your hands. He said: O Lord, was that not in Your desire and love? He said: Yes, but they are My servants and I am the Most Merciful of them. This was difficult for him, so Allah revealed to him: Do not be sad, for I will complete its construction by the hand of your son Solomon. When David died, Solomon began to build it. When it was finished, he offered the sacrifices and slaughtered the animals and gathered the Children of Israel. Allah revealed to him: I see your joy in building My House, so ask Me and I will give it to you. He said: I ask You for three things: a rule that matches Your rule, a kingdom that no one after me will have, and whoever comes to this House intending nothing but to pray in it will emerge from his sins as on the day his mother bore him. The Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - said: As for two, He has been given them, and I hope that He has been given the third.
2- The story of God Almighty granting him a great kingdom.
Allah says
And We certainly tried Solomon and placed on his throne a body, but then he repented (34) He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower." (35) So We subjected to him the wind, blowing gently by his command wherever he directed (36) And the devils, every builder and diver (37) And others bound together in shackles (38) This is Our gift, so bestow or withhold without account. (39) And indeed, he will have nearness to Us and a good fate (40)
And We certainly tried Solomon and placed on his throne a body, then he repented (34
Many Israelite narrations (i.e. sayings of the People of the Book, especially the Children of Israel) have brought it - so we preferred to bring its apparent meaning, i.e. what it was, the trial (test) Solomon, peace be upon him, was tested by God Almighty by losing his kingdom and being taken over by a devil called Sakhr. This body that was thrown onto his throne is this devil Sakhr, and he took over his kingdom for a period of time, until Solomon, peace be upon him, asked for forgiveness and God returned him to his kingdom.
He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower." (35)
When the tribulation happened to him and his kingdom was taken away, he who had his kingdom taken away when he was twelve years old, he returned to his Lord and asked God Almighty for the impossible after that, so he said a statement that no one before him had said (My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower). So he knew how to call upon God Almighty by one of His beautiful names, the name of God Al-Wahhab, and asked Him for the impossible, Perhaps no one has come to this day who possesses what Solomon, peace be upon him, possessed, and perhaps someone has this ability, and perhaps even greater today, so it is a prayer that is timed according to its timing throughout history, or perhaps it is not appropriate for a prophet from the family of prophets after him. God knows best what He intends for His servants.
So We subjected to him the wind, blowing gently at his command,
Neither a storm nor a slow one, but in between, it is easy, obedient to Solomon, fast and good. He said: It is neither a storm nor a slow one, wherever he hits: wherever he wants.
Imagine: at this time in history, there is no worldly knowledge as we see today, such as an electronic elevator made of silicon and other things that transport people from the Earth to the planets or other innovations of the age, rather, in a primitive era before the Muhammadan message, and someone came with all these unexpected things, so the prophets, had they not come with sensory miracles: that is, the minds and hearts are incapable of coming up with something like them, they would not have believed the messengers and prophets at all, He would direct it from the sea side to head towards the place he wanted, carrying rain in the clouds, and it would direct ships in the seas.
And the devils are all builders and divers, and others chained together in fetters (38)
Builders make shrines and statues from it, divers extract jewelry for it from the seas, others carve bowls and pots for it, and the rebels are chained in chains. If this existed today, you would be able to call it a monopoly of one of the companies called whales, that is, giant transcontinental companies that monopolize a certain type of natural pearls, not cultured or otherwise.
This is Our gift, so bestow or withhold without account (39)
Giving: Kings' gifts: their donations... It is known that a gift cannot be returned, exchanged, or returned to its owner because it is usually a great gift, so it is impossible for a person, no matter how much money or prestige he has, to return the gift.
God Almighty says to Solomon - peace be upon him - this is the type of our giving, so bestow a gift from it upon whomever you wish, or withhold it and do not give it to anyone (So give to whomever you wish from the kingdom which We have given you, and withhold from whomever you wish from it, no account will be taken of you in that.) So, whoever owns, giving becomes easier for him than for someone who does not own at all.
And indeed, he will have nearness to Us and a good fate(40)
And indeed
he has with us the loftiness, majesty and power of Allah, the Blessed and Most High.
For him, Solomon, peace be upon him, (is near) and a good destiny (a paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth). On the right of the throne of the Most Gracious dwells the prophets and messengers, for they are close to the Most Gracious. Just as here in this world there is an elite who surround the kings, and they are mostly the ones with high white collars and the ones with money, prestige and power, none should be close to the Most Gracious except another elite on the Day of Resurrection, completely different from the elite of this world, among them are the martyrs. And do not be sad, for there will be no blood upon them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will they die of thirst, nor anything, but they have an appearance that is envied by those near and far.
The moral of the story
1- It is said that you will not be empowered until you are tested, and the reward comes according to the degree of the test, and whoever is satisfied with the decree of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, Allah will give him according to His decree, glory be to Him.
2- It seems that the throne (the throne of ownership) has an ecstasy that only those who sit on it know, so O Allah, we ask You not to take away after giving, not in ownership but in anything that You have given us.
3- It is said that when Allah the Blessed and Exalted gives, He amazes, and this is what we hear about the story of Solomon, peace be upon him, we can only be amazed.
4 - Not every gift in this world is forbidden in the Hereafter. That is, this is God’s provision for whomever He wills, from the kings who are very just with their people, their nations. These are the ones who are close to God Almighty, with His permission, on the Day of Resurrection, and they have a gift that continues from this world to the Hereafter with the permission of God Almighty.
3 - The story of his conversation with the bird
(And he said, "O mankind, we have been taught the language of birds")
From the reign of Solomon the Great (talking to birds) which preceded all times, today and since the sixties of the last century some Westerners have begun to talk to birds, not only parrots, but also to chicks and animals that no one would imagine talking to, such as donkeys, whales, dolphins, chimpanzees, monkeys and others, and they speak in a language that is not poor, but rather at the level of a child in kindergarten or perhaps higher, this is the king of today, and Solomon, peace be upon him, did not learn sign language or anything else to talk to them, but God Almighty granted him that as a divine gift.
The moral of the story
1 - Is this a message from Allah the Almighty: to use animals in all areas of life, of course I do not mean animal experiments, but talking to them and using them according to their ability, the ugly gray oriental parrot is more intelligent than the colorful western parrot, and the donkey is not stupid but one of the smartest animals, and the chicks are one of the most intelligent and cunning small flying mammals... So where are the Muslims from these experiments, where? This talk about our master Solomon in our book (the Holy Quran) If we have not done this until now, then when?
2 - One of the great Muslim scholars says: If the West has achieved something that we, as Arabs and Muslims, have not achieved, then all Muslims are sinners. Do you hear that they are all sinners?
4 - The story of the judiciary between people
(previously mentioned in the story of David, peace be upon him -

The story of the saphenous horses
Al - saphenous: standing on three legs and the hoof of the fourth in preparation for taking off
Allah says
And We gave to Dwwud, Solomon, What an excellent servant! Indeed, he was one who frequently turned back to God, When the fine, saphenous horses were presented to him in the evening, He said: I loved the love of goodness more than the remembrance of my Lord, until it was hidden behind the veil, return it to me. So he began to wipe the legs and necks.
And We gave to Dwwud, Solomon. What an excellent servant! Indeed, he was one who frequently turned back [to God]!
Among the things that God Almighty bestowed upon His Prophet David, peace be upon him, was a dutiful son to his father, and a righteous servant of God who often returned to God Almighty. God Almighty mentioned Solomon as one of the best servants in the sight of God Almighty, in His saying (what an excellent servant he was).
When the saphenous horses were shown to him in the evening
For the evening, at the parade, between the afternoon and sunset, and Solomon loved horses very much and had thousands of them, and in a parade that seemed like a military parade of horses, we noticed that Solomon was inspecting each part of the army and himself, here he reviews the health, strength and intelligence of the horses, and in other verses he inspects the birds until he spoke about and with the hoopoe, and in other verses he spoke with the ants, truly he is a commander of the military forces, but he carries humility in his heart until he speaks with the smallest soldiers and inspects the conditions of his army and himself.
The saphenous
It is the saphenous one that only occurs in horses and mares. It is the one that stands on three legs and the tip of the hoof of the fourth leg does not allow the fourth leg to touch the ground. This is one of the signs of its lightness, indicating the nobility of the horse’s origin and the goodness of its character.
The Horses
The plural of Jawad is a horse of good quality, meaning preciousness.
He said, "Indeed, I have loved the love of goodness over the remembrance of my Lord until it was hidden by the veil
Love of goodness here is a review of the number and strength of horses in his army, and the best Arab armies were those that carried a lot of horses, and Solomon - peace be upon him - He lives around Jerusalem in the Arab countries, and God knows best. The Arabs used to be optimistic, and they took great care of horses, so perhaps they named them “good” out of optimism, so that they would be prepared for good luck and fortune.
Until the sun was hidden by the veil
Bring it back to me. So he began to wipe his legs and necks
He began to stroke the horses' manes and legs with his hand out of love for them. That is, after he had reviewed them and they had gone away to their stalls, he said: "Bring them back to me." So he began to stroke their legs and necks out of respect for them and out of love for them.
The moral of the story
1- One of the most beautiful things that Allah gives to His servants: a righteous son, especially if he is close to Allah, the Blessed and Exalted.
2 - A scientific miracle in the science of animal behavior since much more than 1446 years ago, since the days of our master Solomon - peace be upon him - in the word (Safanat) which means: They are horses that stand on 3 legs and the hoof of the fourth in preparation for setting off. So who knew that one of the behaviors of horses when setting off is that they do that? Animal behavior scientists are the ones who have known that for a time not so long ago to all this date
3 - Until it was hidden by the veil: namely the sun, indicating that a person is preoccupied with his money, his horse, or what God Almighty has provided him with, but Solomon was often repentant and turned to God Almighty.
4 - As for his saying, peace be upon him - “Bring them back to me” and he began to wipe their necks and legs with his blessed hand, it is an indication of the depth of his connection with animals, and that he had a friendly relationship with them, as horses are among the animals that are most tame and domesticated with the horses that are with them. by those who take care of it, love it and respect it, as if it were a message from our master Solomon to take care of horses in particular, and there is nothing strange in this, as the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said about horses: Al-Bukhari (2852) and Muslim (1873) narrated on the authority of Urwah ibn al-Ja`d, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: (Horses have goodness tied to their forelocks until the Day of Resurrection. That is, the front of its head. Horses are honored in the Qur’an, to the point that they appear in these verses and in other verses, such as (And the horses, panting) and other verses mentioned in the pure Sunnah.
5 - Read this noble hadith about horses. On the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Horses have goodness tied to their forelocks until the Day of Resurrection, Horses are of three types: for one man they are a reward, for another they are a cover, and for another they are a burden, as for that which is a reward for him: A man takes it in the way of Allah and prepares it for Him, and it does not hide anything in its bellies except that Allah writes down a reward for him. And if he were to pasture it in a meadow, it would not eat anything except that Allah writes down a reward for it. And if he were to give it to drink from a river, he would have a reward for every drop it hides in its bellies - until he mentioned the reward for its urine. And its dung, - and if she were to be honored with one or two honors, he would be written for every step she takes a reward, as for the one for whom it is a cover: the man takes it as an act of honor and adornment, and he does not forget the right of its backs and its bellies in its hardship and ease. as for the one upon whom there is a burden, he is the one who takes it as evil, arrogance, extravagance, and hypocrisy to people. That is the one upon whom there is a burden.
So: We did not hear about Solomon, peace be upon him, that he forgot to mention God Almighty except in the case of horses only. He did not forget to mention God when dealing with the jinn or humans in his army or even with ants or birds. Rather, he forgot to mention God only when dealing with horses.
The Story of Talking to the Ants
Allah says
Until, when they came to the Valley of the Ants, an ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings, lest Solomon and his soldiers crush you while they not perceive, Then he smiled, laughing at her words, and said, “My Lord, inspire me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy among Your righteous servants.
Until, when they came to the Valley of the Ants
Solomon, peace be upon him, while passing by with his soldiers, it seems that he passed by a valley of ants, and where do ants make an entire valley for themselves? In the mountains, plains, and other outlets on earth, the most important: He passed by a nation of nations, a nation of insects, namely the ant, and God Almighty said in more than one place in the Qur’an: (There is no creature on earth or bird that flies with its wings except that they are nations like you) The Qur’an decided that even insects, each species separately, and they are in the millions, so that some of them are not classified in a table due to their large number, and among them are newly invasive species. God Almighty also says in more than one place in the Qur’an (We have neglected nothing in the Book), so even insects were not neglected to be mentioned in the Qur’an, but the Qur’an chose the most beneficial and best of them in the life of humanity, such as bees and ants.
And ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings
It could be the queen ant or it could be a worker ant. It is known that ants have a language that entomologists understand, and it is said that they have warning dances, where they dance in certain ways and this language means a warning of an enemy. The most important thing is that this small ant was afraid for her people from torment or the destruction of the entire valley, so she warned her people. Another indication is that the ants seem to have been outside their homes searching for food and working hard and diligently outside their homes.
To crush you
The word “Lam” indicates justification, and crushing only happens to something that breaks and shatters. They found that the body of the ant is made of a substance that is very similar to glass, so when pressure is applied to it, it shatters like glass shatters. The verse contains a scientific indication of this matter.
Solomon and his soldiers will surely crush you.
The ant has good intentions even with a huge army, so it did good to Solomon and his soldiers. The strangest thing is that it knows our master Solomon by name... which is evidence of the truth of his prophethood - peace be upon him - as almost all the prophets have been witnessed to by other creatures such as animals (some of them) with their prophethood and message, such as the snake of Moses, and the chick that came to complain to the prophet and others.
They do not feel
That is, the ant did not imagine that a prophet of God would march with an army in the way of God, and corrupt the life of a valley of ants, and not humans, trees, stones, or domesticated animals. It did not occur to her at all. What she truly understands is that armies are basically not corrupting the lives of the creatures around them, with humans at their head.
So he smiled, laughing at her words
In this part of the noble verse, Allah the Almighty differentiated between smiling and laughing. Smiling means that his lips parted from his teeth, laughing without making a sound. As for laughing, it means that the face is relaxed and the lips parted from the teeth out of joy, accompanied by a sound. There are several indications in this:
1 - The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, smiled a lot and only laughed a little, so much so that his laughter, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is counted as....
2- Laughter is not forbidden, but the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, warned against excessive laughter, as he said: “Beware of excessive laughter, for it kills the heart and takes away the light of the face.” Narrated by Ahmad and others, and authenticated by Al-Albani.
Today's scientific evidence proves that laughter kills the heart, not as a matter of jurisprudence, but as a matter of medical, but in some special cases, especially those who have a medical history of any heart disease, and this applies to the very young, the very old, and those who have a medical history of a heart condition.
Now. What does this have to do with our master Solomon, peace be upon him? The scientific discussion of the difference between smiling and laughing has nothing to do with our master Solomon, peace be upon him. He was mostly healthy and well, and was young. Whether he smiled or laughed, he had no problem. However, the verse is highly rhetorical and makes a distinction that the general public cannot differentiate between.
And he said, “My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy among Your righteous servants
He asked God Almighty for 4 requests:
