Surah Al - Baqarah: page 8

And when We delivered you from Pharaoh's family, who afflicted you with an evil torment, They slaughter your sons and keep your women alive, and in that is a mighty trial from your Lord (49)

On the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said

The priests said to Pharaoh: In this year, a child will be born who will over your rule, He said: So Pharaoh made for every thousand women a hundred men, and for every hundred ten, and for every ten men, he said: Look at every pregnant woman in the city, when she gives birth, look at him, and if he is a male, slaughter him, If it was a female, then abandon her. And that is His saying: (They slaughter your sons and alive your women, and in that is a great trial from your Lord).

A look at the verse

God Almighty says in a verse in Surat Al-An'am (...and let each other taste the violence of others...) Sometimes sisters quarrel, relatives quarrel, neighbors quarrel and others...so remember the noble verse: (...and let some of you taste the violence of one another...) Sometimes sisters quarrel, relatives quarrel, neighbors quarrel and others... so remember the noble verse, when the hand or the tongue extends badly, then we remember this part of the verse n here in the verse that is in our hands, God Almighty enumerates the blessings upon the children of Israel, the favor towards God - the Almighty - is a favor, and towards people towards one another is reprehensible and not a favor, among the blessings that he enumerated for them is that he saved them from the torment of God Almighty, and by himself he speaks to me that it was a great torment, It is slaughtering males in general, and leaving them in general, and leaving women without values to take care of their affairs, and this is from the calamity, this is a great blessing that deserves to be thanked, for whoever enjoys happiness is not how much he is miserable with calamity.

And when We parted the seas for you, then saved you, and We drowned the family of Pharaoh while you were looking on (50)

They were twelve tribes; So the sea parted twelve paths, so each tribe of them took a path from it, and that is how God Almighty separated the sea with them, and separated it with them, by dispersing them in His twelve paths, and Moses went out, until when the sea met him and he did not have to turn away from him, Pharaoh came out with his army from behind them, and when the two crowds saw each other, Musa’s companions said, “Indeed, we will be overtaken.” Musa said, “No, my Lord is with me.

A look at the verse

We will not talk about the verses supporting the prophets and messengers, for the prophets and messengers are human beings and they lived among their people for a period of time before they became messengers. Therefore, if they did not have miracles that exceed the capabilities of their times, no one would have believed in them, a miracle is something that is out of the ordinary, and these times did not have any kind of technology that does not dazzle anyone today because of its abundance and number, and among the enumerations of Allah - the Exalted - the blessings upon the children of Israel - is that He made the sea parted on the right and left like a great mountain, the paradox here is not, but rather the paradox in the destruction of the largest tyrant head known to humanity before their eyes, did you walk in life and you had a fierce enemy? If it was, did you heal with his death before your eyes? of course, this is a rare thing, so to see the destruction of those who have tasted all kinds of harm and before their eyes there is a blessing that never abandons its gratitude.

And when We promised Musa forty nights, then you took the calf from him after it, and you were wrongdoers (51) Samaritan's name was

Musa bin Zafar, fell in the land of Egypt, entered the children of Israel. When Aaron saw what they had fallen into, he said: O my people, you have only been tempted by him, and your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my command, They said, "We will not remain devoted to it until Musa returns to us." [Taha: 90-91] so Aaron stayed with those Muslims who were not tempted with him, and he made those who worship the calf stay on worshiping the calf, and Aaron was afraid if he walked with those of the Muslims with him, For Moses to say to him: I dispersed among the children of Israel, and you did not observe my words, and he was fearful and obedient to him

About Mujahid

Jewelry they borrowed from Pharaoh's family, and Aaron said to them: They took it out, so they purified it and burned it, as if the Samaritan had taken a fist from the track of Jibril's mare and put it in it, and it was proportioned to him, and it was like a hollow in which the winds fanned.

Views of the noble verse

1- Today, in the year 2023 AD, there are approximately 4,000 earthly religions, and if we do not recognize them as Muslims, this does not negate their presence, among them are those who worship white mice and build temples for them of pure gold, even the dishes in which these worshiped mice eat are made of pure gold, It seems that there are minds that cary this kind of worship in the past and the modern- we ask God for recovery-

2- Moses - peace be upon him - is the prophet and he is the resolute leader who did not know how to smile due to his frequent dealings with the Children of Israel, although his brother left him to succeed him in his people, he was not firm with Moses, so Aaron - peace be upon him was eloquent and Moses was firm.

3 - The idea of the calf is not only an idea of worship for the children of Israel, but each of us has a special calf that must be slaughtered one day, and it is the thing that stands as a barrier between you and God Almighty, whoever worships the lust of forbidden money, sinful trade, or other than that is like the worship of the Children of Israel to the calf, one day you must stand with yourself and slaughter the calf, to learn how to approach God - the Almighty - without equals.

Then We pardoned you after that, that you might be grateful (52)

We left your hastening with punishment, “after that,” that is, after you took the calf as a god, as: - Then We pardoned you after you took the calf as a god, so that you would thank me for my pardon on your behalf, as forgiveness necessitated gratitude to the people of intellect and reason.

A look at the verse

1 - God Almighty loves to forgive when one is able, and bestows upon him what he does not bestow upon me when He is fully capable of destroying the Children of Israel completely in one moment, But he did not do that, rather he trained and sent messengers after messengers, sending supporting miracles, and sending prophets, However, the children of Israel did not comply with God's commands - do you think that God's forgiveness in this case changed the children of Israel?

2- Then let us admit that there are some people who, if you forgive them, will increase their honor and shame and wish you well, and there are some people who will only be forgiven by your arrogance and feel that you are incapable of them, and at the first opportunity, he turns back to be more aggressive towards you with insults, because they are different types of people, and this reminds us of the poet’s saying (If you honor the generous, you will possess him, and if you honor the mean, it will be rebellious)

Now: Let's remember together the difference between pardon and forgiveness

forgiveness

Forgiveness of sins and transgressions: that is, transgressing them

pardon

The land that has not been trampled and has no traces

From this linguistic definition, we conclude that

God - the Most High - did not only forgive the Children of Israel, but also pardoned them, that is, it is as if He - Glory be to Him - opened a blank page with them and they started from scratch, It is as if we have something like Hajj and Umrah - of course God knows best, and it is a blessing that deserves thanks, not only because they worshiped the calf after being saved and seeing Pharaoh and his mighty soldiers die before their eyes, Rather, because being close to God is a blessing that deserves thanksgiving, why? Because it contains tranquility, dignity, self-respect, and fulfills the demands of instinct. Each of us needs a higher authority to turn to in times of adversity and this is the lowest estimate, but the highest estimate: Just as we nourish the bodies with food and drink, the soul has nourishment that if it has not reached it yet, it will remain confused and lack something that it searches for in everything around it and calls it happiness.

And remember also when We gave Moses the Book and the Criterion. By “the book” he means the Torah, and by “criterion”: the separation between truth and falsehood

 Ibn Abbas said

Al-Furqan: The name of the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and the Criterion

Ibn Wahb told us "Al-Furqan"

Which God Almighty said: The Day of Criterion is the day the two hosts met [Al-Anfal: 41], so that is the day of Badr, the day God differentiated between truth and falsehood, and the judiciary that differentiated between right and wrong. He said: Thus God gave Moses the Criterion, God separated them, and delivered him and saved him

A look at the verse

Having a curriculum with you (the book) as if it equals that if you are guided by what is in it, that God - the Almighty - gives you a grant (Al-Furqan), so you can differentiate between truth and falsehood, after you were straying from this, or God will grant you a personal victory or with the group of believers, as happened with Muhammad - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him on the day of Badr, and God is Most High and Knows.

And when Musa said to his people, you have wronged yourselves, by taking the calf, then repent to your Creator and kill yourselves, That is better for you in the sight of your Creator, so He accepted your repentance. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful (54)

On the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas

He said: Moses commanded his people on the command of his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, to kill themselves, He said: So those who were devoted to the calf sat down, and those who were not devoted to the calf got up.

And they took the daggers in their hands, and a severe darkness befell them, so they began to kill each other, so the darkness left them, and they evacuated seventy thousand dead, everyone who was killed had repentance, and everyone who remained had repentance.

Qatadah said

"It was a martyr for the slain, and repentance for the living."

Oh Moses, we will not believe you and we will not acknowledge what you have brought us, until we see God openly - clearly, by lifting the curtain between us and Him, and revealing the veil without us and without Him, until we look at Him with our eyes.

On the authority of Qatada in his saying: (So the thunderbolt seized you)

He said: They died

Thunderbolt: fire

A look at the verse

How does a person get hurt by lightning?

Lightning streams on a person's skin and enters their body through a connection point to travel through the nervous system or the cardiovascular system. The larger the object, the more space the lightning must travel within the object, and the greater the damage it can do to humans or animals. The most common way to be struck by lightning is through these ground currents. If a person is standing anywhere in the arc, It is likely that the current from the ground travels through the person's body through their leg, weakening or stopping the person's heart or breathing completely, and then travels down the other leg and exits. It can cause cardiac arrest, severe burns, permanent brain damage, memory loss, and personality changes. Lightning strikes more people than it kills; Lightning injury expert Dr. Mary Ann Cooper told The Washington Post that 90 percent of people who get struck by lightning survive, possibly with long-term neurological damage.

Then We resurrected you after your death so that you might be grateful (56)

The origin of “resurrection” is to stir something from its place

To thank Me for the blessings I bestowed upon you, by bringing you to life, that you may turn back repentance from your grave sin, after I inflicted punishment on you with the thunderbolt that I inflicted on you, so I killed you with the greatness of your mistake that was between you and your Lord.

Others said: The meaning of his saying: (Then We sent you)

That is, we sent you prophets

And We made the clouds shade over you, and We sent down to you manna and solace.ۖ eat of the good things that We have provided for you. And they did not wrong Us, but they wronged themselves (57)

about Al - Sadi

When God repented of the people of Moses, and revived the seventy whom Moses had chosen after he had put them to death, God commanded them to march to Jericho, which is the land of Jerusalem, so they walked until, when they were close to it, Moses sent twelve captains. It was their command, the command of the tyrants, and the command of the people of Musa, what God has narrated in His Book, and the people of Moses said to Moses: (Go you and your Lord, and fight. We are sitting here). Moses became angry, so he over them and said: My Lord, I have no power but myself and my brother, so separate us from the disobedient people. so it was a hastened of Moses.

God Almighty said

(It is forbidden for them for forty years to wander in the land)

When he struck the desert on them, Moses repented, and his people who were with him came to obey him and said to him: what did you do to us, Moses? When he regretted it, God revealed to him: Do not grieve over the immoral people, that is, do not grieve for the people whom you have named immoral - but he did not grieve, and they said: O Moses, how can we get water here? where is the food? So God sent down the manna to them - and it used to fall on the trees of the Tarangin - and the Salwa = which is a bird that looks like a quail, one of them used to come and look at the bird, if it was fat, he would slaughter it, otherwise he would send it away, and if it was fat, he would come to him. They said: This food, where is the drink? So Moses commanded, and he struck the stone with his stick, and twelve springs gushed out of it, so every tribe drank from an eye. They said: Is this food and drink? So where is the shadow? Clouds overshadowed them, they said: This shade, where is the dress? Their clothes were long with them, as long as boys.
