Does a daughter have rights in Islam? Of course, and the evidence is
Allah the Almighty said
(يا أيها الذين آمنوا قوا أنفسكم وأهليكم ناراً) التحريم/6
(O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire) At-Tahrim/6
And it is proven in the two Sahihs
On the authority of Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, on the authority of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he said (Is not each of you a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock) Agreed upon
What are the rights of a daughter, then?
1 - The right to choose a righteous mother
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: (A woman is married for four reasons: her wealth, her lineage, her beauty, and her religion. So marry the one who is religious, and may your hands be covered with dust) Agreed upon; because the one who is religious is a righteous woman, and she is keen to raise her daughter in a righteous manner as well, so a generation of righteous women will emerge among us, and then a righteous society.
2 - The supplication for the offspring before they are born
The father is keen to protect his daughter from Satan by supplicating for her before she is born. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: (If one of them wants to have intercourse with his wife, he should say: In the name of God, O God, keep Satan away from us, and keep Satan away from what You have provided us, then if a child is destined between them in that, Satan will never harm him.) Agreed upon.
3 - The right of Tahnik
The saying of Asma bint Abi Bakr when she became pregnant with Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr in Mecca, she said: “I went out and I was complete (i.e. I had completed the ninth month of pregnancy), and I came to Medina, and I stayed in Quba and gave birth in Quba, then I came to the Messenger of God (may God bless him and grant him peace), and I placed him in his lap, then he called for a date, and he chewed it, then he put it in his mouth, and the first thing that entered his stomach was the saliva of the Messenger of God (may God bless him and grant him peace), then he gave him Tahnik with the date, then he prayed for him, and he blessed him, and he was the first child born in Islam.
And for the Tahnik, there is a scientific characteristic that we will learn about together
The effects and interactions of saliva, immunoglobulin A, and nutritional factors in health and disease
Influences such as
diet
food preferences
and sanitation
play crucial roles in the formation of the gut microbiota
The oral cavity is the place where the digestive system communicates directly with the outside. Stable temperature and humidity provide ideal growth environments for many bacteria. However, the oral cavity is a unique environment that is susceptible to changes in pH, salinity, dietary nutrients, and external pathogens.
Recent studies have emphasized
the importance of the gut microbiota, as changes in the composition and balance of bacteria can contribute to the development of systemic diseases.
As for the known medical benefits of tahnik, scientific studies have confirmed that tahnik strengthens the muscles of the mouth by moving the tongue with the palate and jaws until the newborn is prepared to breastfeed, suck milk strongly, aid digestion, stimulate blood flow, and instinctively stimulate the swallowing and breastfeeding mechanism. Also, pressing the roof of the child's mouth upwards during tahnik has an effect in giving the mouth a natural shape to prepare the child to pronounce letters correctly from their natural points of articulation when the child begins to speak.
